K-POP 101 AT ANIME EXPO 2011

I will be hosting the K-POP 101 panel at Anime Expo 2011 in Los Angeles this 4th of July weekend!

I've been working on this for a while now, but I didn't want to announce it until it was official. :D

Have all your Anime and J-Rock buddies suddenly flocked to artists like DBSK and Big Bang? Come to K-Pop 101, and find out what the fuss is all about.

Since BoA sang "Every Heart" for Inu Yasha, more and more Korean pop stars are emerging in the anime world. TVXQ lent their vocals to the theme of "One Piece," and most recently, 2PM has landed the ending theme for "Blue Exorcist." In the Japanese rock world, many fangirls are losing their sisters to the allure of these Korean pretty boys, and the Japanese pop charts are overwhelmed by the lovely ladies of 4minute, Girls' Generation, and the like. Korean artists are even making waves in the U.S. What is the appeal of this so-called Korean wave? Let's talk about it!
