K-POP 101 AT ANIME EXPO 2011
Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 10:27AM I will be hosting the K-POP 101 panel at Anime Expo 2011 in Los Angeles this 4th of July weekend!
I've been working on this for a while now, but I didn't want to announce it until it was official. :D
Have all your Anime and J-Rock buddies suddenly flocked to artists like DBSK and Big Bang? Come to K-Pop 101, and find out what the fuss is all about.
Since BoA sang "Every Heart" for Inu Yasha, more and more Korean pop stars are emerging in the anime world. TVXQ lent their vocals to the theme of "One Piece," and most recently, 2PM has landed the ending theme for "Blue Exorcist." In the Japanese rock world, many fangirls are losing their sisters to the allure of these Korean pretty boys, and the Japanese pop charts are overwhelmed by the lovely ladies of 4minute, Girls' Generation, and the like. Korean artists are even making waves in the U.S. What is the appeal of this so-called Korean wave? Let's talk about it!

A K-Pop Panel?....at Anime Expo?! I would so go but it sucks that I don't live in Cali T_T (I live in TX...but I will go to AX someday)
I went to a K-Pop Panel while I was at Anime Matsuri in Houston in March. That was the 1st Time a K-Pop Panel was at an Anime Con (I was like "A K-Pop Panel in an Anime Con?...wow O_O" but it could work)...and I had so much fun there ^-^
Before the Panel started, they played some songs and people could come up if they knew how to do the Dance (Me doing Gee = FAIL since I didn't know it. Me doing Lucifer = HELL YEAH...and that some people might have recorded me or took pics). Not only did ppl did Dances, but they had a Giveaway. The person running the panel gave away some K-Pop CDs if we answered a Question right (she got them at a Store in Houston where they sell J-Pop, DVDs (yes, K-Dramas, Anime, etc), C-Pop, and of course, K-pop).
Lucky for me, I won an SM The Ballad CD ^-^ ....and found SHINee's Romeo and Lucifer Album at the store, the next day :D
The panel sort of got out of hand since...apparently, SOME PPL were being noisy and wouldn't be quiet....other than that, it was awesome! :D (Since the K-Pop Panel, I'm now friends with the Person that ran the Panel ^-^)
Lindsay, when it comes to talking about K-Pop, you are awesome and I love your vids ^-^ I know you're gonna kick-ass at that Panel XD
